On June 25, 1952, first lead was produced at Ust-Kamenogorsk industrial site. The enterprise that was founded then later became part of Kazzinc Ust-Kamenogorsk Metallurgical Complex (UKMC).
Since its foundation, the Lead Smelter has been famous for its modern equipment and technologies.

Up to 12 types of concentrates are processed at the same time, and its final product is not only title lead. The output is several types of finished products and raw materials rich in metals for other divisions of Kazzinc.
The Lead Smelter has implemented technology to reduce its environmental impact. In 2012, a large-scale modernization was carried out, a new ISASMELT technology was introduced here to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions.

Today the company still holds a leading position. Kazzinc ranks first in lead production in Kazakhstan.
