Cathode copper is relatively new to Kazzinc product range. The first batch was produced in 2011 at the new operation - Copper Plant, Ust-Kamenogorsk Metallurgical Complex. Since then, copper has become a key metal produced by Kazzinc. In 2019, the Company produced 65'100 tons of silver.

The feedstock for the Copper Plant is delivered from Altay and Ridder. The ore is treated at the concentrator, the concentrates are sent to the smelting operation.

At the Copper Plant, the finished product - copper cathodes of grades М1К, МООК - is produced in a five-stage process flowsheet. The process stages operate state-of-art imported equipment and methods that maximize the recovery of useful components from the existing feed and ensure safe working conditions.

  • Copper is highly conductive and comes second to silver only, which ensures efficient operation of wires and cables, their core is made of pure copper, free of any other metals.

  • Copper is highly conductive, corrosion-resistant, therefore rather irreplaceable in electrical parts in cars.

  • High conductivity of copper is good for making gas lines, stove burners and grids

  • High heat conductivity reduces the cooking time, the food does not stick and cooks all the way through. Anti-septic properties prevent fungus and bacteria from contaminating the food.
