The first zinc metal was produced in Ust-Kamenogorsk 75 years ago. Since that moment the history of the name plant has started.

In 1942, during World War II, the main equipment of Electrozinc Plant was evacuated from Ordzhonikidze (now Vladikavkaz) to Ust-Kamenogorsk, and in 1943 the construction of a new plant began. The first electrolytic zinc was produced on September 25, 1947.

With the foundation of Kazzinc Ltd, Zinc Plant of Ust-Kamenogorsk Metallurgical Complex turned a new page in its history. Today, this plant is the flagship of the core business in Kazakhstan, producing up to 193,000 tons of zinc metal per annum. This is the top record in the country and one of the highest rates in the CIS.

Over the last 75 years the plant has produced 13,686,126 tons of zinc.
