Vadim Bedayev, an employee of Ridder Metallurgical Complex, Kazzinc Ltd. (Eastern Kazakhstan) was honored for a heroic act. He was first to notice a fire in the next-door apartment in his living block. He was aware that there must be kids, so Vadim immediately attempted to help them.
He and his neighbor together broke the door, then he crawled into the apartment all filled with thick smoke. Vadim exited the apartment with a five-year old boy in his arms and together with the just arrived professional rescuer they started the cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Thanks to prompt and well coordinated efforts of the rescue team and local community members the two kids and their mother survived.
Sometime later Vadim Bedayev was recognized with three Certificates of Appreciation issued by regional Emergency Situations Department, local governmental authorities and Trade Union of Ridder Metallurgical Complex.
