A Parliamentary committee visited Ust-Kamenogorsk Metallurgical Complex of Kazzinc Ltd. within a campaign on creating favorable conditions for sustainable development of East Kazakhstan Region. The guests were told about the large-scale environmental program and the best practices implemented by the company.
A group of visitors led by Maulen Ashimbayev, the Chairman of the Senate (upper house of Parliament), Erlan Nysanbayev, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and Ermek Kosherbayev, Governor of East Kazakhstan Region met with the top managers of Kazzinc and took a site tour.
Company representatives told the guests about Kazzinc operations and specially mentioned the environmental programs. Introducing the best available technologies (BAT) to reduce air emissions is one of the most pressing tasks today.
The guests recognized the successful practices already in place in the company and shared further improvement ideas in terms of protecting the environment.
