KAZZINC INSTALLS AUTOMATED EMISSIONS MONITORING SYSTEM KAZZINC INSTALLS AUTOMATED EMISSIONS MONITORING SYSTEM

10.05.2024
Special sensors that will send real time data to the regulator have been installed at all production sites of the company.

Continuous monitoring system of Ust-Kamenogorsk Metallurgical Complex covers all main sources. These sources are Sulfuric Acid Plant stacks (conventional flowsheet, Haldor Topsoe and Lavalin), Lead Smelter's Dust Collection Section and Copper Smelter hygiene gas sources. The sensors have also been installed at the only discharge point to the Ulba River, where the water is discharged after going through multiple stages of filtration system.

Kazzinc employed the equipment manufactured by global leaders. Currently, Kazzinc and National Information Technology JSC technicians are setting up the automated monitoring system data transfer to state regulator.

In addition to the monitoring system improvement, Kazzinc environmental engineers continue working on the emissions reduction. In 2023 Kazzinc spent over 700 million tenge for the implementation of environment protection actions at UKMC. As a result, the emissions were reduced by 932 tons versus 2022. We continue working in this area.
