The International Forum KAZAKHSTAN-PRODUCED CONTENT 2.0 with the participation of the Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov was held in Astana. Major mining and metallurgical companies spoke about cooperation with medium-sized businesses, and Kazakh partners spoke about the opportunities for partnership with the industrial giants. Also, the participants shared their vision of further development.
Over the years of operation Kazzinc has continuously worked to increase the domestic share in the purchased goods, works and services. Local content development office has been functioning in the company for more than 10 years. Over this period the amount spent for the purchase from local partners increased 3.5 times. Over the past five years about 5,000 Kazakh companies have become Kazzinc partners, providing jobs to > 275,000 employees. Almost a half of these 5,000 companies are small and medium-sized businesses.
Within this forum Kazzinc has discussed the most topical issues associated with the development of a belt of small and medium businesses in the single employer towns and cities (these are the communities built around a major industrial company) and shared their best practices in the entrepreneurialism development, and new initiatives such as the business projects contest “Seriktes”.
