The road was built as part of public private partnership between the Akimat of Akmola region (regional administration) and Kazzinc. Altyntau Kokshetau - the company’s major gold mining asset is located near Kokshetau.
The new highway has double sided lighting, sidewalks and a bicycle lane, traffic lights and drainage channels. The Copa Lake embankment improvement is in progress. The projects are to be completed in 2025.
