A large-scale competition among young geologists took place in the Akmola region in the city of Shchuchinsk. Kazzinc traditionally supported the Competition.
VII International Field Competition (Olympics) was dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Kanysh Satpayev. The event brought together more than 200 high school students from 20 teams. Young geologists came from various regions of Kazakhstan and several neighboring countries.
Participants demonstrated knowledge of the basics of safety engineering and geological disciplines such as paleontology, hydrology, mineralogy and petrography, and geology of minerals.
The winners in the individual all-around were awarded with six educational grants for geological specialties at prestigious universities of the country.
