The international tournament on track and field athletics for the prizes of Olympic champion Olga Rypakova was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The competition took place at the athletics center named after the Olympic champion.
The championship has been given the World Athletics Continental Tour level - the highest class of competitions where athletes can earn points in the world rankings.
The event has been held since 2015 and is now the 9th in a row. This year, there were 85 talented athletes from eight countries: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
The competition program included several disciplines for men and women: different-distance races, jumps and relay races. Every year the athletes show excellent results and set new records.
Kazzinc covered the organizational expenses as well as provided the prize fund of the tournament. In addition to cash prizes, discipline leaders received a chance to participate in the selection for the Summer Olympics that will be held this year in Paris.
