In his current role Gavin is responsible for overseeing finance, commercial strategy, governance and assurance across Glencore’s nickel and zinc operations and projects in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. He also serves as Chairman of Kazzinc, Glencore’s integrated zinc and precious-metals business in Kazakhstan.
With more than 25 years’ experience in the mining industry, Gavin has held a series of senior leadership posts spanning Coal, Copper and Zinc. Prior to his present appointment he was President of Prodeco in Colombia. Earlier roles include Chief Financial Officer of Glencore Operations South Africa, Global Chief Procurement Officer, and Chief Financial Officer of Mopani Copper Mines, building on formative experience with De Beers and Deloitte.
Gavin is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree. He is based at Glencore’s corporate headquarters in Baar, Switzerland.
