At the Kazakhstan Powerlifting and Single Lifts Championship, Medet Chayembayev, a timberman at the Dolinny Mine, competed in the raw bench press discipline within the open category. Competing in the under 100 kg weight class, he benched 200 kg to secure first place, while also taking second place in the absolute standings.
Additionally, at the Asian Championship, the athlete won gold in the open category and silver in the absolute standings.
